She is a postdoctoral researcher at the Catalan Institute for Water Research (ICRA) in Girona. Her research is focused on the study of river microbial ecology, with a specific focus on investigating the impacts of climate change and the chemical contaminants (nanoparticles and micro-contaminants) on microbial communities. She is particularly concerned about the ecotoxicology of river biofilms with emphasis on understanding how global climate change, notably warming and hydrological changes, affects Mediterranean river ecosystems.
